Q&A Another PT question...

I do not mean to wear out my welcome... but have another question. We often get patients that have had some type of orthopedic procedure (i.e. osteophyte removal, debridement, etc) for which there is no specific orthopedic aftercare code. Thus, I would think it appropriate to code Z47.89 (Encounter for other orthopedic aftercare) with the addition of code Z98.89 (other specified postprocedural status), however my trainer discourages me from using the postprocedural status code at all. Could someone please explain/enlighten me THANKS!
